Charlotte Bobcats vs. Mavs 11/18/08

Standard

My observation is that the Bobcats are sucking hard.

With zero points half way through the first quarter primarily due to missed jumpers, the Cats made me want to cry. My seats were also fueling the tears; I was sandwiched between an elderly/awnry Charlottean who was heckling Larry Brown and a pack of Germans cheering for Nowitzki.

But I digress…

When is the team going to stop taking these worthless jump shots? Everyone is doing it!! We obviously cannot nab an offensive rebound, so the shots are almost guaranteed turnovers. The only guys consistently driving to the hole are our point guards. Jared Dudley also had a couple of good efforts.

And Gerald…sweet Gerald. You are not a 3pt shooter my friend. The only time I’m comfortable with you taking a long shot is from your deadly hideout in the corner.

But bitching aside, the starters were soulless last night. When LB put Dudley and Augustin in the game while we were still scoreless, an obvious infusion of optimism and determination hit the court.

The Bobcats will definitely be making a panic trade soon. And it will likely include be one of our top 3 players.

  1. With the rampant sentiment of disappointment running wild after last night’s game, I found a slightly less bitter recap of the events from another Bobcats blogger –

Let’s hope that J Rich does return soon and the Cats get back on track. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that Okafor is putting in extra reps at the foul line after practice, too.
